About

The independent specialist who makes unusable data usable.

Plain-spoken, evidence-driven, and accountable for outcomes. The specialists you call when the data matters and the usual tools have failed.

Who we are

ABAR Data Solutions Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned data services company based in Western Australia. We help organisations and individuals extract, recover, transform, and make sense of data that is trapped in unusable forms: legacy systems, corrupted and deleted files, scanned paper, proprietary formats, and unstructured archives.

The founder

ABAR was founded by Jim Kelly, who brings more than 20 years of IT industry experience. That experience shapes how every ABAR engagement is scoped, delivered, and quality-checked.

Our vision

A world where no valuable data is written off as unreachable. Whatever the format, the age, or the condition of the source, the information inside it should be available to the people who own it, in a form they can actually use.

Our mission

To give clients reliable, verifiable access to their own data. We combine AI-assisted processing with disciplined human quality control and, where the situation demands it, forensic-grade handling, so the output is not just usable but trustworthy.

What we do differently

Most data services providers are either large consultancies that won't touch small or messy jobs, or tool vendors selling software that still leaves you doing the work. ABAR sits in the gap: a specialist firm that takes ownership of the whole problem, from a corrupted database to a million-page scanned archive, and hands back clean, structured, verified data.

Forensics discipline, meaning chain of custody, documented process, and verifiable outputs, is applied not only to legal work but as a quality standard across every engagement.

Data security

Client data is encrypted in storage and transfer, with access limited to personnel engaged on the matter. Handling is aligned with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, for forensic matters, applicable WA legislation and court practice directions. Every engagement includes a documented retention and destruction policy.
